The opening program begins with a solemn prayer, followed by the Philippine National Anthem and the LVD Hymn, setting a formal and reflective tone for the event.
In his opening remarks, School Director Fr. Jose Marie L. Pareja, SVD, PhD, emphasizes that the pursuit of knowledge must go beyond academic achievement.
“The pursuit of knowledge should always be partnered with values,” he highlights, reminding students that research must be grounded not only in intellect but also in ethical responsibility and purpose.
An inspirational message is delivered by Academic Coordinator Sir Ronald D. Consultado, MAT, who shares a personal reflection on his journey with research. He admits that he once found research difficult and unappealing, but over time developed a deep appreciation for it.
He encourages students to become future researchers who can contribute to societal development and foster knowledge, emphasizing that research begins with the desire to find solutions to problems.
Following this, Ms. Vanessa C. Collera, Focal Person of the Research Program, presents the rationale and activity guidelines, orienting participants on the objectives, flow, and expectations of the congress.
The program continues with the presentation of rubrics for selecting the Best Poster, Best Paper, and Best Oral Presenter, facilitated by the moderators, ensuring transparency and clarity in the evaluation process.
To formally commence the academic presentations, Research Teacher Lauro Jr. J. Cantero introduces the panel of evaluators, composed of respected professionals tasked with assessing the students’ research outputs.
The opening program sets the tone for the research congress, highlighting not only academic excellence but also the importance of perseverance, integrity, and purpose in research.
