Capping off their impressive performance, The Paraclete Press was hailed as the 5𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 in this year’s DSPC.
Several students from The Paraclete Press have qualified for the upcoming RSPC 2026, a milestone in the journalistic journey of LVD.
Viena Anthoinet Orque, the DSPC gold medalist in Copyreading and Headline Writing, described the moment her achievement was announced as surreal and overwhelming.
"I immediately stood up and ran to Ma'am Wivioll. It was a wholesome moment as a journalist that have been competing since 2018 in the same category. I was shocked, and it felt like I was on cloud nine," she shared.
Meanwhile, Kathlyne Bajo, who has long aspired to qualify for RSPC since her elementary years, expressed a mix of pride and joy at achieving this goal, finishing in 3rd place in her last DSPC battle as a high school journalist.
"I’ve never been qualified for RSPC since elementary, so it really feels surreal. I feel a lot of emotions right now—proud, surprised, and happy. Kaya yan!," she said.
The Paraclete Press’ triumph at DSPC 2026 stands as a testament to the campus journalists’ passion for truth, creativity, and excellence in journalism.
